Exclusively designed for Rutt HandCrafted Cabinetry
Exeter is inspired by the work of British architect Sir Edwin Lutyens, bridging a gap between the familiar comfort of traditional styles and the clean simplicity of Modernism. Anchoring the series is its unusual recessed panel design, reminiscent of window opening and sash details used by Lutyens.
The inner frame profile is a step and semi-elliptical bead on the sides and top, but shears away on a steep slope at the bottom of each cabinet. Upper and lower rail surfaces are slightly recessed flats that terminate in narrow strips, with vertical edges doing similar with an additional step, suggestive of light falling through stone traceries.
