Ruskin

Ruskin is inspired by the ideas and work of John Ruskin, the influential art and architecture scholar, writer, critic and philosopher of the latter half of the 19th century. His thinking was key to the Arts & Crafts movement, and informed the rise of Modernism. Contemporary ideas of sustainability, and tying tradition and modernity together are part of his legacy. He studied the form and proportions of Classical Greek temples, Romanesque and Byzantine architecture, and the great stone Gothic cathedrals. A century and a half later, we have the benefit of seeing how the Arts and Crafts movement and Modernism evolved. These threads are woven into a timeless and cohesive design language in the Ruskin series.
